Create your account
Your first step is to set up your free account and candidate page. Register and log in from the home page. Once registered you will have access to multiple features including bookmarking or saving jobs that you want to consider and possibly apply to later. As a candidate, you have access to a number of quick links that will drop down in the navigation and help you get the most from the system.
Search for free
Registering is easy. You will have to select candidate, agree to the site terms, and verify your new account through your email. Check your spam filter if you don’t see the verification email. Then return to enter your contact information. It’s wise to upload your photo ASAP (160×160 px is recommended), and some basic information about who you are and what you do. Add your social media links and remember that an interested employer will likely do a search to see what is online about you so why not make it easy. You’ll need to accept the terms and please sign up for our newsletter so we can share information about people and companies making a difference and learn about what Passion Placement is doing in support of removing animals from the supply chain.
Post your resume
One of the most important steps in setting up an effective candidate page is to upload your resume ASAP. This will allow employers to find you perhaps before you find them. Let’s face it, resumes are never really up to date and they can always be improved. Don’t wait for perfect, it will likely never happen so just go for it. You can always update your resume later. Advanced search features
On Passion Placement, you can tailor search results to your requirements. You can look for jobs by keyword or title, type, location (including remote), experience level and more. At the bottom of each job description to the right of the “apply for this job” button is a heart that you can click to bookmark (favorite) any job. You can use Passion Placement advanced job search to find job postings on your computer or on your mobile. We’ve added instructions on setting up a quick link for your phone below. So how can you stay on top of the newest job openings?
Set up jobs alerts and stay up to date
You may not find what you are looking for during a search and even if you do it’s a smart move to set up some job alerts. Job alerts are email updates about new jobs that fit the criteria that you set. By doing this you will be notified of new job postings soon after the employers post them.
You can create multiple job alerts to be sent to you either daily or weekly. You can manage alerts by giving them titles and setting how often you’d like to receive email updates. You can pause or delete alerts as you like. You will find the job alert button at the top of the advanced search page. which says, Job Alert: email me more jobs like these.
Research companies of interest
If you’ve found a job that’s interesting or want to learn more about a particular company you can visit their Company Page. From there you can access their website and social media to gain a deeper understanding of the organization, other job openings, company culture, DEI, (diversity, equality, inclusion) and other policies. Researching a company will help you determine whether it’s mission-focused in a way that is good for you before you apply.
Research can also help you to identify relevant keywords to use in your application, resume, and cover letter when looking for work. It is most effective to use keywords from the actual job posting in your resume and cover letter. This will help you to stand out as a strong candidate for the position. It will also increase your odds of getting past the AI software used in the applicant tracking systems (ATS) some employers use to do the initial screening for them. Finally, your research will guide you in asking informed and relevant questions during an interview.
Tip: Look to social media to connect with people that work in that company of choice. Learn what you can first hand to gain insight about the culture directly from someone that works in it.
Once you’re ready – apply for a job
At the bottom of every job description page, you will find the “apply for this job” button which will take you to the employer’s application site, ATS, or information on how to apply for the job.
Employers search resumes looking for candidates every day. If you’d prefer for a specific employer(s) not to see your resume, simply go to your member dropdown and select the restricted employers from the dropdown and click save.
