We are looking for a Controls and Automation Engineer to join our team. This role will be responsible for providing technical leadership for our sites in support of electrical and controls. This role serves to improve the safety, reliability and productivity of our manufacturing processes through tactical support and project execution. You will drive production process improvements, assist with introduction of new products and support/lead capital improvement projects as necessary.

Assist with completion and startup of our new production facility
Drive productivity through a strategic use of technology from feasibility to completion
Provide tactical and strategic operations support to reduce/eliminate issues associated with equipment, performance, quality and safety
Manage electrical and controls architecture
Identify and justify lead applicable electrical and controls capital projects
Manage relationships with collaborators; plant cross-functional teams, contractors, integrators and corporate engineering resources
Maintain the plant electrical safety program
Develop electrical and controls facility master plan, support development of the capital plan and manage obsolescence in each area of the plant
Provide technical support to the Operations, Quality and Maintenance functions with the aim of reducing manufacturing defects
Respond to manufacturing issues as they occur
Work cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, HR, maintenance, Finance, Sales, Marketing and other departments as required
Here are the things we think you need:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from ABET-accredited program preferably in electrical or controls engineering
5+ years of related experience in process automation
Experience with Rockwell/Allen Bradley
SQL and Network Architecture preferred
Hardware application, programming and integration experience
Ability to interpret and apply the NEC, NFPA 70E, Corporate and other standards to the plant equipment and projects
Experience leading and managing 3rd party electrical contractors and controls integrators
Experience with process/packaging control, equipment specifications and panel design
Ability to troubleshoot PLC’s at the code level and troubleshoot equipment and wiring
Understanding of and experience with power distribution equipment
Strong project management skills, including estimating, scheduling, quote request generation, bid analyses, cost tracking and compliance, project issue resolution, installation and start-up support and training
Strong communication and presentation skills applied to multiple organizational levels: production floor, internal managers and senior management
Ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects
Good problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
