Overview:

  • AeroFarms recently announced its plan to go public via merger with a SPAC (expected to close Q3 2021) and is hiring a Financial Analyst for our expanding team
  • Financial Analyst will report to Director of Corporate Development who leads AeroFarms’ financial modeling group
  • Experience of 4+ years as financial analyst or similar role
  • Mastery of cash flow, three statement and GAAP-based modeling; experience with other types of economic analysis, capital formation, capital markets, and traditional FP&A functions is a plus
  • Expected to derive clarity from multiple sources of information, ultimately presenting clear business insights as well as frameworks for decision making to Leadership and Board
  • Must have a passion for sustainability
  • Experience with CPG, manufacturing, technology, and/or energy sectors is encouraged but not required
  • Unique opportunity to guide our company through the next phase of growth. The Financial Analyst will have great exposure within AeroFarms as we transition to being a public company. The role will be instrumental in owning the financial models and strategic analyses that help to scale our business from current footprint in Newark, NJ, to a global platform as the leader in controlled-environment agriculture (CEA)

Responsibilities:

  • Author, maintain and use financial models to support decision making throughout the company
  • Evaluate strategic opportunities by delivering top-quality analysis and presentations
  • Support execution of new farm pipeline and new product commercialization
  • Communicate findings to stakeholders across the company in oral and written form, including presentations for company Leadership and Board
  • Maintain integrity and consistency of financial analysis across the company
  • Partner with leaders of Operations, Engineering, R&D and Sales teams to develop and integrate key assumptions into forward-looking financial models and business plans
  • Develop new tools and robust analytics to enhance insights around KPIs/metrics, including dashboards and summary reports
  • Support annual process for company budgets and OKRs (Objectives and Key Results)
  • Willing to work weekends if needed. The Financial Analyst should anticipate several big milestones per year including quarterly Board meetings/earnings releases as well as supporting the annual budget process. Candidate is expected to manage their time effectively and balance their life’s priorities outside of work through strong communication skills.

Skills:

  • Advanced Excel: mastery of three-statement modeling, including the ability to scrutinize underlying assumptions and understand their implications against future results
  • Advanced PowerPoint: ideal candidate will be geared toward story-driven presentations with quality supporting data, and will have the ability to summarize key conclusions for each intended audience
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Driven by numbers, data, and results
  • Self-motivated and highly productive
  • Fun to work with
  • Experience in STEM, Investment Banking, Valuation, or related fields encouraged but not required
  • Balances long-term projects with quick deliverables supporting day-to-day business needs
