About the Role
Reporting to the GM, Operations, the Fulfillment Center Manger is responsible for managing all aspects of the successful fulfillment of customer meals. They are also responsible for managing all aspects of a successful facility including: pack functions, inventory, and GDP/OSHA/CDC compliance. This role oversees all operations within our fulfillment center for the Pacific Northwest region based out of Portland.
This is not a desk job – we are looking for hands-on candidates who enjoy getting in the trenches with the team and understanding the challenges they face, identifying opportunities, and working to thoroughly oversee the implementation of new practices and initiatives. What you’ll do:

  • Oversee production(fulfillment) team including collaborating with supervisors on team scheduling and time tracking
  • Identify continuous training and/or coaching opportunities for staff in areas of productivity and KPIs, performance, and attendance
  • Manage timesheets, reimbursements, report cards, and related data required for accurate payroll for production staff 
  • Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations in partnership with People Operations and management
  • Handle discipline and terminations of employees in accordance with company policy; collaborate with People Operations to ensure that all personnel matters are handled in a timely manner
  • Allocate labor appropriately to meet labor cost goals
  • Identify recruitment needs and partner with Talent Acquisition to recruit, interview, and hire talent
  • Train additions to the team with a focus on setting up new hires for success and retention
  • Facility, Production, and Logistics Oversight:

  • Manage offices, facility, janitorial, equipment, production, and PPE inventory
  • Coordinate with contractors performing work at the facility
  • Plan, organize, and map production/pack throughput for all shifts, assigning associates for maximum efficiency, accuracy, and balance
  • Ensure the accuracy of inventory received from Vacaville(NorCal) line haul, and report any shortages/overages to appropriate teams
  • Work in collaboration with the NorCal, PNW Logistics, and Production teams to ensure continuous process improvement and success in all Logistics departmental functions including delivery windows and fulfillment
  • Ensure that all staff follows and understands allergy SOP to maintain and allow for“0”(zero) allergy misses
  • Ensure that bag cleaning functions are conducted regularly 
  • Create and institute SOPs or protocols as needed to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and discipline for pack production
  • Ensure that all required documentation is completed in full, is accurate, and submitted after each shift
  • Safety & OSHA Compliance:

  • Maintain and adhere to COVID-19 Policy compliance
  • Conduct consistent safety meetings once per week keeping track of attendance for policy changes and rollouts
  • Ensure OSHA compliance standards are adhered to at all times by staff
  • Conduct internal QA Audits along with QA Team weekly while instituting preventative measures to reduce the level of infractions and build internal team discipline
  • Work Environment:

  • This is a”hands-on” role and will require a physical presence in the field while continuously maintaining a tight understanding and direct accountability for the status of production and logistical operations in all geographical areas for the Pacific Northwest region
  • The schedule will be dictated by the needs of the team and operations; expect to work nights and weekends as we primarily deliver on Sunday evening/nights, Mondays, Wednesday evening/nights, and Thursdays
  • Comfortability with a physically demanding position; Able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach and willing to work in a refrigerated environment(35-40 degrees)
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly, and up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • What you’ll bring:

  • 5+ years proven experience in a production/manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years supervisory or management experience of large(100+) teams; CPG and/or fresh food production experience preferred
  • High school diploma required; Bachelors degree preferred 
  • Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach
  • Working knowledge and understanding of GMPs, quality standards, and safety & OSHA regulations
  • Proven experience in setting and reporting on key production metrics
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
