We are looking for a Jr Process Operator to join our team.  This role will be responsible for operating the manufacturing process for production of oat base, daily maintenance of equipment, and problem solving. You will participate in the ramp up of production at a new site and training of new employees to ensure future growth. In addition to operating the oat base production, you will work within warehouse and receive goods and also assist loading product in bulk-trucks. With the support from site manager and global organization, you will coordinate of the quality and CIP work at site. This position will normally report to the Millville Oatly plant Friday-Tuesday 12:00am-8:00am but will also be utilized as a floater to cover 12-hour shifts based on vacation schedules and callouts.

Here are the things we want to hire you to do:

  • Together with site manager and global organization, build up, maintain, and further develop the quality system and HACCP work at site
  • Participate in LEAN/Improvement work
  • Exterior cleaning of the equipment and verification of the CIP
  • Follow the Food Safety rules and Good Manufacture Practice
  • This position has direct responsibilities surrounding Food Safety
  • Utilize process data, trend analysis and training to monitor, troubleshoot and respond to process conditions to optimize the plant operations
  • Collect and test samples on different stage of the process, and take action based on the results when required.
  • Perform basic laboratory testing pH, viscosity, total solids and titration 
  • Maintain a clean facility and follow the sanitation schedule
  • Perform ATP swabbing
  • Adhere to all safety standards and wear all necessary personal protective equipment
  • Other duties as assigned 
  • Here are the things we think you need:

  • Must be 18 years or older with the ability to read, write and speak English specific to work instructions including but not limited to safety purposes 
  • High school, GED, or equivalent diploma required 
  • 2-4+ years of experience in a production/manufacturing environment
  • Experience with ERP database software, food industry, food safety and quality, and HACCP
  • IT competence: MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, SharePoint) and ERP systems
  • Lean/OPEX/Six sigma experience
  • Social competence and ability to establish sound relationships with others
  • Ability to work in a systematic, analytical, accurate, and structured way
  • Improvement driven and focused on completing goals
  • Agile and adaptable in a fast past work environment
  • Maintenance and mechanical knowledge
  • Ability to climb several flights of stairs and ladders
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force at times and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body
  • Ability to work in cold and hot environments (approximately 38F-80F degrees)
  • Ability to be mobile in accomplishing tasks and or moving from one worksite (up to 1-mile range) to another this could include but not be limited to in-plant departments, (Shipping- Receiving, Production, etc.)
  • Ability to repeat motions that may include use of the wrists, hands and/or fingers, and standing or sitting for prolonged periods (average 8-12 hours)
  • Flexibility with work schedule to allow for coverage when necessary and to work weekends and/or overtime when required
