We are looking for a Manager of Trade Planning and Business Analytics to join our team. As part of the Commercial Strategy team, this role will be responsible for leading all aspects of trade budget execution within the Commercial organization. This position will complete the buildout of our new forecasting and trade spend management tool/processes and lead the transition and rollout within the organization. This role will be instrumental to drive cross-functional synergies with Supply Chain and Finance.   

Here are the things we want to hire you to do:

  • Trade Planning & Forecasting
  • Complete the buildout of our new customized Trade Promotion Management and forecasting tool/system and lead the transition and rollout within the commercial organization.  Act as process owner and administrator for ongoing enhancement and maintenance
  • Manage the commercial sales trade budget and oversight of customer/channel plans ensuring forecasting/spending aligns to budget (inclusive of slotting, customer marketing, and other selling expenses)
  • Support the annual bottom-up planning process and roll-up including analysis for key strategic customers
  • Lead monthly forecast reviews with sales managers to ensure plans represent accurate volume forecasts and all customer promotional spending liability plans are on track to meet the annual trade budget target. Review event projections, actualizations, event resolution and evaluation of deduction balances
  • Develop and execute reporting toolkit to support assessment of key trade health metrics, leading to enhanced annual and monthly forecasting process and scorecarding/accuracy improvement; Provide ROI analysis (pre/post event) on trade promotions
  • Pricing
  • Co-lead Price/Pack architecture work across all Commercial channels (inclusive of target retail benchmarking, promotional investments, customer marketing initiatives and slotting approach)
  • Work with Commercial Strategy team members to build out process & guidelines for SROT (Strategic Role of Trade)
  • Partner with finance to model out ROI associated with strategic initiatives and serve as project lead on projects, workstreams, or key deliverables
  • Here are the things we think you need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • 5+ years of business experience, preferably in CPG, with an emphasis on Forecasting, Trade Promotions and Systems, Revenue Management, and Sales Planning
  • Ability to connect disparate data sources, interpret analysis results, formulate recommendations
  • Deep understanding of Direct and Distributor pricing and components (MCB, EDLC, OI, MCB, etc)
  • Understanding of Syndicated Data (Nielsen, Spins, IRI) a plus
  • Proven ability to break down complex problems into key achievable goals and succinctly communicate actionable recommendations
  • Demonstrated success in cultivating strong internal and external relationships and collaborating cross-functionally within a high-growth environment
  • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous, fast-paced startup environment
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to envision a better future state
  • Self-motivated with the ability to embrace change and deliver results managing multiple/diverse priorities
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and exceptional PowerPoint/presentation-building skills. SQL, Macro building a plus

    The salary for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. Compensation may also include bonus, commission, or equity as applicable. For the state of Colorado only, our good faith estimate of the starting pay for this role is $115,000.
