As the Operations Specialist & Project Manager, you play an integral role in maintaining The Humane League’s core systems and processes. We want you because you have a mission and values-centered orientation and a comprehension of how organizational efficiency drives performance and success. You are ideal for this position because you have a deep comprehension of the administrative needs of a small, innovative nonprofit; have a strategic mindset; and are adept at managing multiple, changing priorities while maintaining positivity. You enjoy providing great, person-centered customer service, possess the ability to accept feedback constructively and pivot appropriately. You also exhibit solid problem-solving skills with a dedication to innovative solutions in objective and collaborative settings. This position reports directly to the Director of Operations.

This is a full-time, remote position. This position requires domestic travel, this is equivalent to approximately 2 – 4 trips per year and requires reliable transportation to make regular local trips to the post office to ship materials. We are only able to consider applicants who reside in the United States and possess United States work authorization.

  • Manage internal systems such as groups and channels in Slack, Google Groups, and permissions in Confluence for example.
  • Implement and train on document storage best practices (using Google Workspace)
  • Manages licensing and issuing of software and physical assets
  • Manages the inventory of organizational assets
  • Manages company intranet navigation, layout, and content using Confluence
  • Trains and coaches users and content managers on company intranet
  • Lead and manage projects related to operational innovation and systems management
  • Assists with operational projects within People Operations and Financial Operations
  • Manage internal communication and infrastructure projects ensuring budget and timelines are adhered to
  • Serves as liaison to departments and external contacts when necessary to coordinate new or existing projects
  • Receives and replies to incoming calls, mail and email
  • Performs miscellaneous tasks/projects as assigned needed to support THL’s mission
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Administrative experience or equivalent education
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with a positive, solution-oriented attitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Possess excellent attention to detail
  • Advanced computer skills with experience managing a website and/or database
  • Works objectively and as cross-functional team player


  • Move equipment weighing up to 25 pounds

Starting salary $53,000 or salary to commensurate with experience.
