The Global Field Sciences team provides in-field product performance characterization, uses world-class scientific standards, delivers decisive, reliable data across all relevant crops and regions to many stakeholders. The team provides data-based decision support, drives product selection, informs high quality regulatory dossiers for product registration, and performance data sales support that meets customer needs. The Global Field Sciences team focuses on internal and external customers alike, using great communication, respect and a focus on safety and quality.
Manages regional large-plot research trial(e.g. LRT) programs end-to-end
Designs (under guidance) and implements high quality large format research trials for the purpose of product characterization across all commercially relevant regional environments as well as demonstrating the value of Indigo’s biological products to customers and other relevant stakeholders
Responsible for implementing entire process of site selection/trial placement, protocol execution, and data collection
Has expert knowledge and understanding of precision agriculture methods and technology as well as statistical analyses
Has broad regional agronomy experience in corn, soy, and wheat
Implements regional contracting with academia, extension services or Contract Research Organizations (CRO) in cooperation with the GFS Operations Team
Implements large plot or machine data collection from CROs and commercial or academic cooperators -potentially in coordination with regional commercial teams- as agreed internally and documented in respective SOWs or Material Transfer Agreements (MTA)
Drives timely data upload and provides 2nd-look data quality control
Is the primary cross-functional contact for the operational implementation of regional large research trial programs
Implementation of new trial formats like next-generation, beta, and customer demonstration trialing
Implementation of trial site selection aided by remote sensing
Implementation of machine data collection waves (post planting & post harvesting)
Pro-actively works with trial QC coordinators and data QC specialists
Is very organized, drives quality and has a passion for precision agriculture
Creative, flexible in approach with the ability to learn and adjust quickly
Significant attention to detail, organizational skills, and passion for getting it right
Ability and desire to follow up and take responsibility
Can communicate clearly and effectively, and take ownership & responsibility
3+ years of work experience as a distributor/retail agronomist, extension services associate or similar
Degree in agronomy or a related field; BSc preferred; MSc a plus
Experience overseeing on-farm demo/side-by-side comparative trials
Has a broad understanding of agronomy and hands-on experience in producing corn, soy and wheat crops
Is a precision ag specialist, has specific experience with planter data, yield monitor equipment, OEM data clouds as well as passion for staying current on new practices and technologies
Experience with the creation of insightful trial results reports
Ability to communicate with confidence to ag professionals like growers, distributors, and extension services
