A Project Manager is responsible for managing and developing the scope, cost, schedule, and execution for capital projects (installation of MHE equipment, facility construction/expansion, facility infrastructure additions). 

Responsibilities:

  • Define unit operation requirements for project scopes.
  • Develop and Execute work plans.
  • Lead cross-functional teams of colleagues and outside resources including vendors and consultants.
  • Apply engineering principles including modeling and simulation with external vendors and consultants.
  • Develop equipment installation, commissioning, and hand-off plans.
  • Develop capital requirements, establish operational metrics that define total productive performance, define development and commercialization schedules.
  • Manage budget, schedule attainment and achievement of project performance metrics.
  • Provide timely and accurate financial forecasting of project cash flow and operational expenses.
  • Hold suppliers and vendors accountable per project scope and work on change orders when necessary
  • Develop FAT/SAT plans and conduct testing.
  • Ensure successful handoff of systems to operations and maintenance teams
  • Produce weekly/monthly reports
  • Review equipment SOPs, BOM, Spare Parts Lists, and manuals (Ops and Maintenance)
  • Balance multiple project deliverables and competing priorities.
  • Manage the vendor qualification, bidding and evaluations process.
  • Create capital appropriation requests (CAR’s), RFQ’s, and purchase orders to vendors.
  • Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in relevant field required
  • Project Management qualifications including certificates or similar accreditations
  • MS Project experience. Material Handling, Robotics, Manufacturing or Packaging background a plus.       
  • Between 5 and 10 years experience in a Project Management Role        
  • Advanced in MS Office software suite (Excel, Word, Visio etc.)
  • An understanding of the Engineering, Manufacturing and Material Handling industries           
  • Exposure to Warehouse/Distribution Center Operations
  • Exposure to various food/beverage material handling technologies, controls, and WMS
  • Energetic ambitious and hard working with proven ability to multi-task
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with project management experience 
  • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • Innovative “out of the box” thinking skills to drive transformational change
  • Attention to detail and organized
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to various manufacturing and material handling automation technologies and controls
  • Understanding of Lean Supply Chain Principals
  • Understanding of Warehouse/Distribution Center Operations
  • Knowledge of various food/beverage material handling technologies and controls
  • Strong Communication/Presentations Skills
