AeroFarms – is seeking a Risk and Safety Manager to work at its location in Newark, New Jersey.

Job Description:

As the Risk and Safety Manager, you will improve the safety of our production processes, create, and oversee health & safety policies/protocols/and programs for all AeroFarms sites, maintain cost savings measures, & provide management with weekly progress reports. You will collect, analyze and interpret safety and loss data, identifying trends and potential exposure. Additional responsibilities include Safety team daily walkthroughs, updating safety logs, reporting incidents, identifying and communicating corrective actions, and growing and developing your team members. This position reports to the Chief People Officer of the company and partners closely with our Plant Managers. You will travel to our other locations as we build out across the US. Our Danville, VA facility will be completed in 2022 with other locations to quickly follow.

You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering/Environmental Safety or equivalent years of work experience
  • At least five (5) years of work experience as a Safety Manager with a background in the following areas: industrial engineering, quality assurance, continuous improvement, and process analysis
  • Daily use and excellent proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, especially with Excel and you have advanced experience with using shortcuts and formulas, building charts and graphs, creating and utilizing pivot tables, Power Query, cell styles, creating tables, analysis, and formatting options
  • Experience in manufacturing industry a must, experience with agriculture preferred
  • Experience managing safety, risk and claims programs
  • Managed a team of Safety Coordinators or Managers across multiple locations
  • Certifications are a must as a Safety Professional – OSHA 30, ISO 9001, ISO 45001 / OHSAS 18001
  • Lean/CI/Six Sigma
  • Must be open to travel (25%)
  • Bilingual Spanish/English a plus, English is the primary language spoken at our facilities
