We are seeking an experienced copywriter to join our Content team, to help generate effective and engaging copy to be used across marketing channels, campaigns, and materials. This individual will work with the broader marketing team and organization to create content to drive awareness, consideration and engagement with customers and partners. The ideal candidate will have a passion for writing and sustainable agriculture. This role provides a remarkable opportunity for a highly motivated individual to expand and stretch their content strategy, planning, and production skillset, in a dynamic, mission-driven organization.  


  • Collaborate with marketing team and cross-functional colleagues (integrated campaign managers, creative designers, social & digital managers, product managers, etc.) to develop creative concepts and assets that target and engage customers, partners, and stakeholders.  
  • Write and edit engaging copy for the full spectrum of Indigo’s marketing assets, including but not limited to: advertising (print, radio, digital, OOH), collateral, website & landing pages, blog, social media, email, search, and video/audio scripting, etc. 
  • Present creative concepts and copy. Proactively manage revisions and reviews. 
  • Rigorously proofread, copy edit, and pressure-test the user experience for every piece of work to deliver the highest-quality deliverables. 
  • Play an active role on the Brand, Content, and Creative Development team by participating in internal brainstorms and planning & strategy sessions. Be an innovator, continually recommending new creative channels, technology, approaches, or assets for campaigns. 
  • Develop a deep understanding of Indigo’s brand, platform, products, and programs—and their corresponding customer bases.  
  • Become an expert in our content strategy, brand guidelines, style guide, and tonality.
  • Become a strategic advisor to the organization, helping to clarify business objectives, define key messages, differentiate the brand, and drive overall messaging and communications consistency.  
  • Evaluate content usage analytics and continuously identify ways to improve content strategy and development.  
  • Understand and embody our mission & core values.  
  • Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English, or a related field 
  • 5+ years of experience in writing, researching, editing, and interviewing subjects, preferably in a fast-paced, dynamic environment 
  • Passion for writing and accuracy within scientific/technical realms with an excellent portfolio of work (applicants must submit a portfolio link to be considered for this position) 
  • Conceptual and strategic thinker with the ability to balance innovative approaches with business objectives  
  • Clear, concise writer who can distill complex ideas into easily understood language 
  • Strong editorial and proofreading skills 
  • Self-motivated contributor with excellent project management and organizational skills, plus a proven ability to juggle multiple projects involving internal and external parties and manage competing priorities and tight deadlines 
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with senior leaders and highly intellectual thinkers  
  • Experience interviewing a wide range of subjects and understanding their unique perspectives 
  • Familiarity with keyword research and experience with SEO copywriting best practices 
  • Experience with social media and content marketing 
  • Experience with video and audio production 
  • Experience in technology/sustainability/farming/agriculture/food systems a plus, but not required
