The Senior BP will report to the VP of People and will help to strategize, create and build a powerful and impactful employee experience. The BP is progressive in the People Operations philosophy of creating, refining, and sustaining powerful and impactful employee experiences to create strong communities and build effective and engaged team members.
Can strategize, create, project-manage, and execute to completion entire parts of the employee experience.
It is progressive in having a strong tech stack built to automate work and stays on top of ongoing tech trends to increase efficiency on the team.
Provides support across the IronOx employee population and consults/advises managers at all levels in all areas of the employee experience, including onboarding, performance management, feedback, recognition, organizational development, employee relations, LOAs and benefits, and successful exits.
Is driven to quickly and proactively identify business needs; develops and presents solutions to senior leaders/VP of People to help drive results in the organization.
Can manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations. Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements. Escalates and engages the VP of People and Legal as needed.
It is resourceful and data-driven to tell a story. Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the People team to develop solutions, programs, policies, and guidelines.
Works closely with managers and employees to provide coaching and guidance on improving and maintaining strong work relationships and increasing productivity and retention.
Provides guidance and input on workforce planning and succession planning to support the overall business and people strategy.
What You Bring
Ability to practice progressive People Ops vs. traditional HR.
At least 5 years of relevant People Business Partner experience supporting front line, mid-level, and executive leaders in high tech start-ups.
Expert-level experience in various people competency areas such as organizational design and development, leadership development, change management, performance management, and employee relations.
Strong EQ skills (self-awareness and self-management, social awareness, and relationship management). Have a strong ability to understand, use, and manage your own emotions in positive ways to communicate directly and effectively, empathize with others, overcome challenges, defuse conflict and teach others the same.
Strong attention to detail and ability to be proactive in the people space.
Strong ability to be a lifelong learner, curious about people technology and staying on top of trends, and bring creative ideas to the table to implement.
Obsessed with results that matter on the larger scale of the employee experience; able to create and deliver full-cycle projects (start to finish) with a sense of urgency.
Team player who acts with a sense of urgency and adapts to a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
Ability to solve complex problems; resourceful and takes initiative to seek internal and external resources when problem-solving.
Comfortable with high volume and very fast-paced workload with a heavy focus on automation of tasks to allow for forwarding people-facing approach. Able to switch between strategic and tactical work daily.
Bachelor’s degree preferred; Master’s degree and/or HR Certification strongly preferred.
This role is open in either San Carlos or Austin locations.
