As a Senior Robotics Engineer, you will work on our mobile robot platform to help realize our vision for an optimized, intelligent farm. You will play a key role in our efforts to develop, deploy and maintain production-quality code that runs on the robots and in the cloud. Some of the exciting challenges we are tackling include:
– Sensor integration and calibration
– Large scale localization and mapping
– Obstacle detection and classification
– Motion planning and collision avoidance
– Decision making and autonomous applications
– Robotic systems architecture
– Multi-robot coordination and traffic management
– Task scheduling and optimization
What You’ll Be Doing
Design, implement and validate features and algorithms in ROS
Integrate, test, and debug software solutions in simulation and on physical robots
Collaborate with members of our software, hardware, growing, and operations teams
Participate in architecture reviews and code reviews
Mentor other members of the robotics team
What You’ll Bring
MS in Robotics or related field (PhD preferred), or equivalent experience
5+ years of applied experience with robotic or autonomous systems
Proficient in both C++ and Python
Experience with system integration, development, and testing on physical robots
Solid knowledge of robotics algorithms for localization, mapping, perception, planning, and control
Experience with software engineering tools and best practices in production
Ability to occasionally commute to our offices in San Carlos and Gilroy to work on physical robots
You have shipped a product
Experience with ROS and Linux software development
Experience with perception/vision libraries including OpenCV or PCL
Experience with deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, Pytorch, etc)
Experience with simulation for robotics development and validation
An interest in agriculture
