As a member of our Cell Line Development team, this person will contribute to and/or lead Mission Barns’ adipose biology research. They will collaborate with colleagues both within and across teams to advance our mission to produce safe, humane, and sustainable cell-based fat. This role is ripe for innovation and discovery, with responsibilities encompassing conceptualization, experimental design, execution, documentation, synthesis, and communication of research findings on adipogenesis and adipocyte differentiation. Title and responsibilities will be commensurate with experience.

Contribute to and/or lead Mission Barns R&D efforts to optimize adipocyte differentiation
Identify novel directions to expand adipose research at Mission Barns
Meet company objectives for development of adipocytes and adipose tissue
Design, execute, interpret experiments and present data
Provide creative solutions and demonstrate critical thinking
Serve as an internal expert on adipocyte biology and cell biology
Collaborate with team members to support upstream and downstream work
Ph.D. in cell biology, physiology, developmental biology, regenerative medicine, bioengineering or related discipline with a demonstrated focus on adipocyte biology and/or adipose tissue engineering. 2+ years of postdoc training is highly preferred.
Deep knowledge in adipogenesis, adipocyte differentiation, and stem cell biology
Strong track record of peer-reviewed papers
Industrial and/or startup experience preferred but not required
Prior leadership experience preferred
Excellent communication skills and presentation skills
Scientific rigor towards continuous improvement of the state of art of adipose research at Mission Barns
Ability to show adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced startup environment
