Our grain marketplace and sustainability programs enable farmers to profit from those sustainable choices.We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Data Completion and Partner Integrations team under Sustainability Tech. We are committed to crafting and maintaining trustworthy applications that help our growers move towards better, more efficient agricultural practices. In this role you will architect and provide hands-on technical expertise in building out a portfolio of products tailored to our agronomic partners. This is a great opportunity to release polished products that our agronomic partners will immediately use to help their customers make a tangible impact on climate change at scale.


  • As an engineer on the Sustainability Team you will:
  • Design and implement products that help Indigo’s partners manage their customers’ carbon credit generation process and other sustainability programs.
  • Create APIs that expose critical portions of Indigo’s carbon credit generation process to allow corporate partners to create tailored solutions for their customers.
  • Contribute to the effort of easing grower data burden by collecting agronomic data from Indigo’s partners automatically.
  • Provide detailed and constructive design and code reviews, and mentor fellow engineers.
  • About You

  • You have working experience with Python.
  • You are able to effectively communicate technical ideas to and collaborate with other teams of engineers and non-engineers.
  • You have hands-on experience writing and shipping high-quality, highly-reliable, intuitive APIs and production services.
  • You enjoy learning and have a talent for organization and breaking down large problems into smaller ones.
  • You have experience working with large, complex datasets.
  • You have a degree in a Scientific or Engineering field, or equivalent work experience.
