Founded in 2015, Bowery Farming is on a mission to democratize access to high-quality, local, safe and sustainable produce. We build smart indoor farms near cities, growing fresher, pesticide-free Protected Produce with bold flavor in precisely controlled environments, 365 days a year. At the heart of each farm is the proprietary BoweryOS, which integrates software, hardware, sensors, AI, computer vision systems, machine learning models, and robotics to orchestrate and automate the entirety of its operations. As a result, each farm creates far less waste and uses a fraction of the water and land compared to traditional agriculture. For more insight on our culture, our teams, and all the things that make us so unique, check out The Roots: Bowery Farming’s People Podcast.
About the Role:
SRE’s at Bowery deliver highly-available and fault-tolerant hybrid cloud infrastructure that services the most technologically advanced indoor farms in the world. In addition to our public cloud footprint, we design, deploy, and monitor Bowery’s distributed on-premise server and network infrastructure at each of our farms. The next SRE at bowery will be primarily focused on the management and observability of our on-premise systems. This SRE will help us design and build the server and network infrastructure of our farms using best practice standards for server and data center management, while also updating our existing systems to be in line with these standards. In addition to our on-premise environments, Bowery uses the public cloud for many of our workloads which you will help monitor and maintain. You will work within a small infrastructure team to help establish the culture and processes Bowery will need to scale the business over the next 5-10 years.
