AeroFarms is looking for Interns to join our HR/People Operations Team for Summer 2022!

You will have an opportunity to partner closely with our People Operations team, focusing in 1 of 3 main areas: Recruiting, HR Generalist, and HR Marketing. We are seeking interns who are available to start in Early June and work with us through August 2022.

Intern Work Schedule & Location: 

AeroFarms is located in Newark NJ, we are committed to supporting our local community and as such we give a strong preference to interns who can attend a hybrid work schedule of in person and at home work. As we grow into a global company and with new farm sites scheduled for construction around the world, we hope that we can have interns from so many different places. However, for now, being a commutable distance will provide the best experience for you as an intern with us. 

Work wise, you will be contributing to the real work of the company (no making coffee or photocopying we promise) as a junior member of the team. Your work hours will be 9-5, Monday-Thursday, with Friday being a half day allowing you a chance to reflect and connect with other interns and other AeroFarms Staff.

Job Description:

As a Human Resources Intern, you’ll have the opportunity to support our HR/People Operations department’s daily activities.  You could be supporting the Talent Acquisition team with coordinating interviews and assisting on departmental projects, or assisting our HR Business Partners with updating personnel files and ensuring company compliance with labor laws. As HR Marketing intern, you will have the opportunity to revamp onboarding materials using your talents in design! If you are interested in kick-starting your career in HR and getting a closer look of how our company approaches employee relations, recruiting, and employee development, we would like to meet you!

Responsibilities:

  • Support the HR Generalist with onboarding, training & development and performance related tasks
  • Support Talent Acquisition Team by scheduling and confirming interviews for candidates
  • Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form
  • Prepare HR-related reports as needed
  • Ensure compliance with labor regulations
  • Maintain absolute confidentiality
  • Support on special projects as needed

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursing a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration (program heavily focused on organizational development and/or human resources)
  • Be confident presenting to groups of people, speaking to individuals over the phone
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written); must be able to communicate effectively in both oral and written form and interface with all departments
  • Customer and team centric with great people skills
  • Strong attention to detail with superb organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability maintain absolute confidentiality
  • Exceptional time management skills with the ability to prioritize
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, etc.)
  • Knowledge of the various types of communication resources (i.e. email, cell phones, voice mail, phone/fax numbers, Job phone/fax numbers, etc.)
